Great food, nice view
The food was great, the staff were very kind and the price was reasonable. We had the fish and chips, which was well breaded and delicious as well as a cheeseburger.
You’re paying for the view here, obviously, which is freaking spectacular on a sunny summer day. Is it pricy? Of COURSE, because the real estate is so expensive. The food was actually pretty darn good, and given the value of the view, I got my money’s worth. Four of us ate, with no complaints on the food. On a beautiful day, I definitely recommend it.
The food was great. The portions are wonderful. Service was excellent. Very clean.
Bartender was a complete dud!!!! It was really awful, no smile at all, seemed annoyed we were even there. 🙄 He could of either made the experience or broke it and unfortunately he broke it. We didn't eat there, just came in for a quick drink since it was very hot outside. $3.00 dollar tip for 4 drinks that is it, he really didn't even deserve that. Btw, I'm a great tipper, His loss..... Our visit to the island soured. :(
Small venue with quality food. I had the fried fisherman's special and it was great. My wife had a chicken sandwich on a really solid ciabatta bun. Service was good. Would recommend if you're on the island.
It was a cold and snowy day and we stopped for a drink and snack the waiter was helpful and attentive even though we didn’t order much. The shrimp was delicious!
We had lunch here and the view is amazing. The food was even better. We had 2 of the daily specials and both were excellent. Potato cakes and crab cakes were nice and crispy and the Caesar salad with Cajun salmon was awesome.
Our waitress Camille was great! Recommend the blackened swordfish steak over Cesar salad!!!!
After an awesome bike ride around the island, made a stop here to refuel and so happy ee did. Outstanding good, great service and great view. Shrimp tacos, crab cakes and house salad...so yum!
Best dining around Portland
Loved it . quaint re sd t as urgent on peaks island .eat on patio overlooking water. It is a beautiful view. Food was very good. Pricey but worth it
Great brews and the view is amazing!
Excellent place
Food was amazing. Nice restaurant with seating overlooking the ocean.
Excellent location, great food, pleasant service, and a good beer selection.Get off the ferry, take a right and it’s on the left towards the crest of the gentle hill. It’s before Brad’s bike rental, so don’t wait in line for a bike with the other ferry riders. Get a beer, have some great seafood, and take in the view.
Unpretentious and excellent little place.
A small, nice place on an island near Portland. Quality of food was good and service was decent. Came at the start of summer, not sure what they would be like in late June/July. Pricey though.
The service here was very fast, and the view of the water was gorgeous.
Nice view and good food
Limited menu but great seating on the deck.
Who doesn't love taking the ferry to an island for dinner? The food and service was great and I got to meet the owners who were very friendly.
Food was excellent. Awesome little place. The best attraction on Peaks island as far I could tell.
Friendly staff, beautiful views and great food and drinks.
Cool little place with both inside and outside seating. Even has a little bar! Food was really good. Waitstaff very friendly and attentive, even know they were extremely busy!We enjoyed our visit!
Small menu. Fresh crab cakes. Not overly full of crab. Nice salad.
Service was great and the food was phenomenal. You get what you pay for so while the meal was a bit pricey it was FANTASTIC!
Quaint and relaxing atmosphere by the ocean great food
My favorite date-night restaurant.
Great food. Beautiful view.
I understand Maine is a tourist State. I live here. But the line has been crossed where high prices and value have drastically diverged. I stopped for lunch at the Cockeyed Gull for lunch with my five year old. Asian Stir fry with scallops for me, hot dog and fries for my little one. No drinks. $40. I was able to get four small scallops with my meal. Come on. Not everywhere has to be overrated does it? Aside from the Cockeyed Gull.
Good food, fantastic view, and they accommodated our group of 15 into smaller tables. The reason for the 4 stars was the waitress we had for our table of 5. She started out ok at the begining but when we were ready to pay we waiting a good 30 minutes inorder to get the correct checks and make the payment. We missed the ferry we wanted to take and we were stuck on the island for an extra hour. Overall it was an ok experience.
Little place. Good food....for adults. My daughter is 14, doesn't have a diverse palate..at least not yet. She wasn't to keen with the selection. A little pricey. Friendly employees.
Beautiful view killer food. Price is steep but you get every penny at your fork. The waitress was really awesome welcomed us and was patient with our daughter.
Amazing Food, Views and Staff. I’ll see you there ;)
Great food, decent prices. Amazing view while sitting outside. Staff was fantastic!
Great service, great food!
Grabbed a beer on the patio as we waited for the ferry. Great views and prices for drinks.
Great place for fish and chips (at the recommendation of Camille... thanks!) wonderful very of Portland from the patio. One of my favorite places on our visit to Maine!
As a family with an infant and toddler, eating out is a rare occurrence. Unfortunately we tried the Cockeyed Gull. We waited an hour after ordering, feeding our young children snacks we carried with us and doing our best to entertain them, while we watched meals get delivered to other guests who arrived much later than us. Eventually the kids started to melt down and we decided to leave. Only then did our waitress offer the explanation “the kitchen is slow today”. Our appetizer order was never even placed, and I got to pay for a $60 lunch my family didn’t eat. With so few options on the island I’m guessing customer service isn’t a priority. My advice is to save your energy, pack a lunch and buy ice cream by the ferry as a treat.
Good food, great view of Casco Bay and ferry traffic. Weather permitting outdoor seating on the deck is a treat.
Beef Bowl was great, shrimp Cesar meh and very expensive. Had to wait a while for food. Looks very pleasant to sit down - we took out. I'd give it another try.
Great food and atmosphere. Something for everyone.
Fabulous food and location.
The atmosphere is wonderful and the best lobster rolls and linguine we've had!
Cute little place food was good location the best
Not great. Host was off-putting when we said we didn't have reservations for the deck on a Sunday night. Sat us inside while many deck tables were empty for our whole stay. Waitstaff was nice and helpful. Food was mediocre. Crabcakes did NOT taste like any crab. Salad was very good. Dinnertime sun was baking us. So...take a chance...but make a reservation if you want to sit outside.
Solid service. Don't expect huge portions, but lobster roll was tasty. All three meals we ordered were very good. But the view from the deck...wow.
Egg nest appetizer was surprisingly tasty. Small restaurant with great views and ok service.
My wife and I have been staying on Peaks for the past 3 days to celebrate our anniversary. Originally we planned on trying out each of the restaurants on the jsland but that instantly changed when we stepped inside the Cockeyed Gull. Cozy interior, laughing and friendly staff and the deck is to die for. A gorges view of the Portland shoreline and the fort its the perfect scene to dine to. The food itself while pricey was well worth it. You can tell the cook cares about his craft. All in all its the best food on the Island. Will be back again.. and again.
